Why Do Games Like Flappy Bird Go Viral?

Whenever I go on my Facebook recently, I can’t help but be bombarded with posts about how far a friend has gotten in the new viral hit: Flappy Bird. But whats made this seemingly simple and rudimentary game such a hit amongst many of my friends that would never associate themselves as a “Gamer”?
